Two £45,000 Listed races for fillies and mares headline the action at Lingfield Park on Thursday, October 28.

The main event is the Coral EBF Fleur De Lys Fillies' Stakes (3.23pm) over a mile, a Fast-Track Qualifier for the £150,000 Coral All-Weather Fillies & Mares Championships at Newcastle on Finals Day.

Indie Angel was a decisive winner of this contest 12 months ago and the Cheveley Park Stud filly scaled greater heights earlier this year when capturing the G2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Her joint-trainer John Gosden, who now holds a licence in partnership with son Thady, is seeking a third straight win in the race having also taken the spoils with Scentasia in 2019.

The Newmarket operation saddles dual All-Weather winner Kestenna and Sweet Enough, who completed a three-timer on her penultimate start at York’s Ebor Festival in August.

A maximum field of 12 also features last year’s UAE 1000 Guineas winner Dubai Love for Saeed bin Suroor and G3 scorer Maamora, who finished second in Listed contests at Longchamp and Newmarket last month for Simon & Ed Crisford.

Roman Mist has improved 32lb since the start of the year and was not disgraced on her debut at Listed level when fourth at Saint-Cloud, France, on September 22.

The three-year-old was a comfortable winner on the All-Weather at Wolverhampton in August and met trouble in running when fourth behind Don’t Tell Claire in a handicap at Ascot on September 4.

Trainer Tom Ward said: “Roman Mist is in great nick. She has been running consistently all year and appears to be improving still, which is great.

“She ran a good race in France last time. They went steady and I thought she was a touch unlucky as she got caught flat footed briefly before staying on again to be beaten less than two lengths.

“She has a nice draw in stall six and a good jockey in the saddle in Tom Marquand. Hopefully, she can go close to getting some black type or even better for her owners Hot To Trot Racing.”

Hughie Morrison is doubly represented by Mrs Fitzherbert, who is chasing a hat-trick on the All-Weather following wins at Lingfield Park and Wolverhampton, and fellow course scorer Rosemary And Thyme.

Declared Interest lines up for the in-form partnership of Ralph Beckett and Rob Hornby. Ananya, Seattle Rock and Sunset Bay complete the 12 runners.

The other Listed contest on the card is the Coral EBF River Eden Fillies' Stakes (2.13pm, 14 runners) over a mile and five furlongs.

Sayyida and Sea La Rosa reoppose for Charlie Appleby and William Haggas respectively after filling the places behind Forbearance in the G3 Princess Royal Stakes at Newmarket on September 24. Sayyida has since finished sixth in the G3 Pride Stakes at the same track on October 8.

Brunnera aims to go one better after going down by half a length in a Listed race at Bath on October 13. The Hugo Palmer-trained three-year-old also has form with Forbearance having finished fourth behind the Irish raider in the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Galtres Stakes at York in August.

Palmer said: “This is quite a quick turnaround for Brunnera after a very good run at Bath.

“There is not much more for her this year and she comes out quite well on the ratings for this race, so we are reluctantly rolling the dice again to see if we can get her head in front in a Stakes race at three.

“She is by Dubawi and her mother Romantica won a Group One, so it disappointed us that she finished last year rated 73. Most Dubawi’s seem to improve with age and I hope very much that she will have the opportunity to improve at four as well.”

John & Thady Gosden have three contenders, headed by lightly raced Le Havre filly Beholding. Godolphin runner Pennymoor and At A Pinch, a near nine-length winner at Kempton Park last time out, also line up for the stable.

James Fanshawe sends out an interesting runner in Viola, who beat Sea La Rosa at Doncaster in July before finishing second to that rival at the same track in September.
