ANOTHER STORY MAINTAINS UNBEATEN RECORD IN DUNDALK FTQ

Fast Track Qualifiers
|

11 March 2017

Four-year-old filly Another Story, trained by Sheila Lavery, won for the third time in as many starts in the €25,000 matthews.ie Race over a mile on Polytrack at Dundalk, Ireland, this evening, Friday, March 10. By winning this Fast-Track Qualifier, Another Story gained a free and guaranteed place on Good Friday, April 14 in the £150,000 Sun Bets All-Weather Mile Championship over the same distance and surface at Lingfield Park, UK. Another Story has done all her winning at Dundalk, taking a six-furlong maiden in November, 2015, a seven-furlong handicap in May last year and now this mile conditions race. Partnered by Pat Smullen, the Rip Van Winkle filly was held up in second and then third as Tribal Path (Damian English/Kevin Manning) set a steady pace. Another Story moved up smoothly in the straight to go to the front with a furlong and a half remaining. The 5/4 favourite ran on strongly to win comfortably by a length and three quarters from Red Avenger (Damian English/Rory Cleary, 3/1) in 1m 40.86s, with Texas Rock (Michael Grassick/Billy Lee, 5/2) another two lengths back in third of the five runners. Sheila Lavery commented: "I was absolutely delighted with Another Story's performance and she remains unbeaten. "I would love to chase the prize money on offer on Good Friday, but I am not sure the track at Lingfield Park will suit her. "I have spent a long time getting Another Story right and we will have to decide what to do next."
